Back in the 1980s, at the age of 28, having held a position of responsibility within a company for several years, and driven by a sudden need for personal success as well as social recognition, I decided to create my own business. I was on a quest to become receptive to my inner voice, to live up to my ideals and follow my profound creative convictions. At the time, I was unaware of the fact that recognition can come from oneself alone, but this did not stop me from becoming highly successful.
From the outside, I was the epitome of a truly fulfilled man, entirely content with his lot: my family life was happy (although I was not often at home), I had guaranteed financial security, strong professional and social ties, as well as encouraging contracts. But confronted with all these responsibilities and an extremely active lifestyle, I soon found myself facing a huge and blatant inability to connect with my inner self.

This neglect of my own person brought on an illness which nearly cost me my life, and I was finally forced to get to know "the man of wisdom" who co-inhabited my body and whom I had rejected for far too long. Was this definitely the meaning I wanted to give to my life? Who really was I? What were my priorities? Was I not living an illusion rather than enacting my own personal dreams? Was I truly happy or just satisfied? I suddenly felt deprived of my Essence.

It was, therefore, during my convalescence that it dawned on me that my recovery was entirely dependent on me changing my behaviour, my way of thinking and my beliefs in the very near future. It was also at this time that I became aware of the close correlation between the body, mind (or intellect) and Soul. I woke up to the fact that it is vital to listen to your intuition, that ‘little inner voice’ which is forever trying to make itself heard and clear a path through the jungle of your uncertainties, fears and confusion, so as to point out the best route to take and, maybe, above and beyond any controlled thought processes, show you what is right and good for you.

I realised, too, that there was no miracle answer to my problems and, more importantly, that they would not be solved from the outside. Above all, I had to be receptive to the signs sent to me from my inner Being (sometimes known as ‘fate’), which punctuate our lives, acting as guides, or pointers set out by this “Friend”, who means us well and wishes to help us choose the right path.
So, I decided to listen, and completely changed course. Today, my philosophy is based on openness and the acceptance of any experiences I meet on the way, whatever they may be. They have the added benefit of continually providing me with the opportunity to reassess my situation, forever keeping me in tune with life’s movements and developments, and in turn forcing me to live every moment intensely, with a sense of responsibility and consciousness, at the service of humanity. I also feel that every human being has a lifetime mission, which is unique to them and mysteriously makes them wake up to themselves. It is precisely because I was able to acknowledge that fact, that I have chosen this way of life…

Once upon a time, there was a child who so wanted to do well for his parents, for the people close to him and later for society as a whole (with all its pressures) that he locked himself away inside a golden cage he had made himself, in which he had everything he needed and where he was surrounded by success. His lack of freedom made the little boy ill and meant that no medication or traditional medicine could cure him. “Fate” led the child to people who allowed him to understand that he could only recover on one condition – that he come out of his cage to freedom. He had to free himself of all his previous beliefs and thoughts, of any conditioning or imaging, to enter into the deepest realms of his very being so he could get to know himself better ..."

I too, like that child, unearthed all the necessary tools (energy, meditation, massage, etc.) for my well-being. In 1989, I met Roop Verma who teaches Nada Yoga. I discovered the healing powers of the ancient yogic science of sound vibrations used to purify the body’s energy fields and transform the different states of consciousness. I became aware that the true worth of this type of music is not given due recognition in the West. I pictured myself introducing this music to society for the well-being of everyone.

That is why I created the Meta Music® label and set up the Pégase® Production and Publishing Company.

In 2001, thanks to the awakening provided by Roop Verma’s music, I discovered, when listening to Isabelle Schmitt’s music, that I could feel and listen to music with my entire body. This inspired me to produce the Trésors de Ganesha CD which would make meditation and the sound of the Sitar accessible to everybody. A follow-up CD, Révélation, was then made with a third composer performer, Eric Aron.

Thanks to this collaborative relationship with the artists, my objective is to produce music and voices for a wide a public as possible, which will bring people closer together, restoring peace and clarity through this language of universal love.

Paul Cañadas set up the Production and Publishing section to promote the work of writer-composer-performers who are sensitive to a simultaneously traditional and novel approach to the conscious use of sound vibrations, specific frequencies and musical modes.
